So I skipped over my second idea because it sucked (even though I almost finished it too). This is my third concept for a tattoo I was asked to design by an old high school friend of mine. And he does like this one better then the first one I did [link] , but once again I have things to change with it...boo that. He still wants both an angel and a devil, its still too animated for him (even though the examples he showed me were animated looking too), the wings need to be more feathery looking, the boobs need to be covered (shocked by a guy saying that)...and the devil girl needs to have wings (non feathered) too...

And then I told him the commission fee I was going to ask for (because I'm not doing all this work for free). I asked for $100 for the amount of time and complexity put into the image. I mean for $100 he is getting me to create the image just the way he wants it (he is being really picky about this), and it will be totally unique to any other tattoo out there.

But when I told him this he started talking about how he doesn't have the money for that, it is "too much", etc etc. I guess he wasn't expecting me to ask him for money. But what else was I supposed to ask him for as payment? I put a lot of MY TIME and MY ENERGY into making not only this design but the others that I have already showed him.....and he has the nerve to tell me $100 is too much for all that effort?

...yet I'm still going to try my best at editing it, not for him, but for my own obsessive compulsive perfectionist reasons.

It looks amazing! It's a pity he's being so picky, though in the future I would suggest mentioning you're charging him mula. It's amazing how many people think art is an instant process, even those who have verbally acknowledged, or seen with their own eyes that it takes a lot of work often live in an imaginary world.

The proportions are amazing though and I love the curvature of her torso.

And what the hell does he mean the wings need to be more feathery? Put any more feather on that and you'll have to make the whole girl a chicken.

And I don't know where he's getting the cartoony look from accept that maybe it's because of the outline... I dunno. I think it looks more like tapestry work. I think it's the lines of the fabric that really remind me of that.

Anyways, great work. It really is amazing as is.
